Sunburst Stables

One of our favorite places to send guests for North Georgia horseback riding is Sunburst Stables here in Clarkesville. They offer a variety of guided trail rides in the Chattahoochee National Forest.  They have 4000 acres of mountain trails to explore, so you can be sure you’ll enjoy the scenery. All experience levels are welcome, and if you and your group are willing and able to handle it, trotting is allowed when appropriate on the rides unlike other trail rides. You can choose from a range of riding options: a one-hour ride through wooded trails and streams to an old moonshine still, a two-hour mountain ride which can be customized according to experience level, a family adventure ride to a miniature animal farm, a three-hour sunset ride through the forest to a mountain top, and a four-hour lunch ride that takes riders through the mountain trails and into the Batesville Valley.

Chattahoochee Stables

Chattahoochee Stables in Sautee is another option for some quality North Georgia horseback riding.  As the name of the stable suggests, they offer guided rides along the Chattahoochee River as well as through beautiful mountain scenery. In the summer, you can even ride through the river for a unique experience. Trips are one hour long.

Equus Mountain Meadow

Located in Clayton, Equus Mountain Meadow offers small group rides with no more than four riders and takes pride in offering a personalized experience to guests.
