About the Mountain Laurel Festival

The Mountain Laurel Festival is a Habersham County tradition that happens each May in Clarkesville, Georgia. The festival takes place every year on the third Saturday of May, and the Mountain Laurel Festival will take place from 10 am to 10 pm. Downtown Clarkesville will come alive with music, arts & crafts, food vendors, garden displays and activities and more. The festival takes its name from the flower that populates the North Georgia Mountains during the spring and early summer.  Using the flower as a symbol of the renewal and celebration of the new season is only fitting, as its beautiful appearance is a sign of the great things to come in following months.  So, be on the look out for this lovely pink, red, and white blossoms during your time at the Mountain Laurel Festival.

Activities at the Mountain Laurel Festival

The Mountain Laurel festival is full of activities and events that everyone in the family will enjoy.  The festivities are marked by a pancake breakfast and parade and there is live musical entertainment throughout the day, so you can indulge in listening to some great local acts.  For those who enjoy browsing arts and crafts, there will be multiple artisans showcasing their wares at the festival.  Other activities include the Duck Dynasty Pageant, the Soque River Duck Race, garden activities, and plenty of chances to enjoy delicious food.
