Wine Highway Weekend
You don’t have to travel all the way to Napa to sample award-winning wines. In fact, wine connoisseurs probably know that you can enjoy some of the country’s finest wines right here in North Georgia! Mark your calendar for the Spring Wine Highway Weekend in March, so you can sip your way through the very best wines that the region has to offer. A $50 fee includes a collector’s glass and admission into several local wineries and vineyards.
Mountain Laurel Festival
Want to experience one of the best North Georgia spring festivals? If so, the Mountain Laurel Festival should be at the top of your list! This festival is hosted by the town of Clarkesville each May. Visitors come back year after year to partake in the flower-centric festivities! Exquisite garden displays and handmade artisan crafts are just the beginning of what you’ll discover when you go. Attendees can also enjoy a pancake breakfast, parade, live music from local bands, a duck race, and a dazzling fireworks display!
Held annually during the last weekend in April, Celebrate Clayton always draws a large crowd. This family-friendly arts and crafts festival features a wide array of unique artwork, including paintings, jewelry, birdhouses, and so much more. In addition to the fine arts and crafts, there are fun children’s activities, food vendors, and great entertainment on the lawn of the historic Rock House. The event always takes place on Main Street in downtown Clayton.
Alto Spring Fling and Parade
If you’re looking for a fun event the whole family will enjoy, you must attend the Alto Spring Fling and Parade! Held annually in downtown Alto on the first Saturday in June, this spectacle includes live music, food and craft vendors, and fun activities for all ages. The parade begins at 10 a.m., so we recommend arriving early to find a good spot. Following the parade is an antique car show, truck and tractor contest, and woodworking vendor market. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes, as this is an all-day event!
