Learn About North Georgia Pottery
One of the oldest discoveries of human artifacts in North America, Georgia pottery is still very much valued in the region today. The trademark red clay, kaolin, and fuller’s earth are used to this day in family-owned folk pottery shops. Each family passes down its techniques through the generations to keep the handcrafted tradition alive. If you’re a lover of pottery or just a fan of history and regional tradition, you should consider a visit to one of these shops to witness it for yourself and purchase a piece to take home with you. We recommend Soque Artworks, Mark of the Potter, and Hickory Flat Pottery.
