Our restaurant was recently awarded, for the fifth year in a row, as the best restaurant in North Georgia, which makes it a “must” for Atlanta foodies. With house specialties like pecan-crusted trout gracing our menu, you can expect our restaurant to feature seasonal menus and fresh ingredients.

The high-end amenities you’ll encounter at our North Georgia Bed and Breakfast are reason alone to choose us for your weekend getaways from Atlanta. What will keep you coming back in the future, though, is the warm welcome you’ll enjoy throughout your stay. With just the right touch of discerning southern hospitality, you’ll feel well taken care of, like a genuine part of the family. This kind of hospitality is lost among larger logging properties.

Hiking the overlooks at Tallulah Gorge is one of the best things to do in North Georgia this winter

Things to do in North Georgia This Winter

We’ve made the case for why our cozy Inn is one of the best weekend getaways from Atlanta. We offer plenty of even the most discerning of guests – and the guest experience here is so delightful that you may not feel the need to do anything else while you’re here. However, many of our guests also love to enjoy at least a little taste of adventure while they are here. After all, there are many things to do in North Georgia!

From chasing thundering waterfalls to sipping local wines, there’s plenty to love about a wintry retreat to the North Georgia Mountains. Below, we’ve listed just a few of our favorite things to do in North Georgia this winter.

  1. Hiking is one of the most popular things to do in North Georgia, even in winter. This includes hiking the trails at the breathtaking Tallulah Falls and Tallulah Gorge State Park. At 2 miles long and nearly 1,000 feet deep, the Tallulah Gorge is a truly beautiful place to see no matter the season.
  2. Though some of our guests love to stroll the Bavarian streets of nearby Helen, we prefer to visit the attractions near this charming town. One of those, Anna Ruby Falls, is one of our favorite things to do in North Georgia. Though the falls rarely freeze over in winter, the leafless trees block far less of the view, making it a great season to visit the area’s top waterfalls!
  3. Don’t miss your chance to enjoy first-hand tasting experiences at local wineries. You’ll find more than 30 of the top Georgia wineries within 45 minutes of our Bed and Breakfast.
  4. Take the time to go shopping and enjoy the quiet charms of North Georgia’s mountain towns, including Clarkesville and Clayton. These are fantastic places to finish up your holiday shopping!
  5. There are some excellent antiqueing opportunities in the nearby town of Dillard, including the Appalachian TraderCarol’s Back Porch Antiques, and DejaVu Antiques. or the Mountain Laurel Antique Mall in Cleveland.
  6. Visit the Hardman Farm State Historic Site, especially if you can get there before the holidays to experience their Victorian Christmas.
