Sip and Savor at Kaya Vineyard and Winery in North Georgia

About the Winery

Kaya Vineyard and Winery, originally called Blackstock Vineyards, is located right around the corner from Clarkesville in Dahlonega, Georgia. Blackstock Vineyards was one of the first and largest vineyards in the Dahlonega area, and the new proprietors continued building that legacy. Here, visitors can partake in tastings, tours, and events at 1600 feet above sea level. This vineyard offers one of the most exquisite panoramic mountain views in North Georgia!

The elegant atmosphere at the winery is one of the reasons why so many people visit. The tasting room features 12-foot-high windows, Edison light bulbs, and reclaimed wood accents. Enjoy the Appalachian breeze on Kaya’s covered deck to the tune of live music, or simply sip your wine and take in the view.

The Wine-Making Process

All of the wines found at Kaya are crafted from estate-grown grapes produced on the property. The Werkheiser family owns and operates the vineyard, utilizing their own unique growing style. The family’s vineyards are planted with classic European, Italian and American grape varietals. The fruit is then hand-harvested and gently processed in their on-property facility. Finally, the wine is taken to a climate-controlled barrel room, which is the perfect environment for the delicate process of flavor and aroma infusion.

What to Taste

It’s hard to go wrong with any of the oaked or fruit-infused selection at Kaya Vineyard and Winery. Here, you’ll find a delectable Chardonnay, Merlot Blush, Viognier, and Rose. There are even classic, complex blends of Cabernet Sauvignon. There’s something for every palate at the Werkheiser family’s winery. The hardest part of visiting is deciding which bottle to take home!

Events at Kaya

No matter what time of year you come to North Georgia, there’s bound to be an event happening at Kaya! One of the most popular events at Kaya Vineyard and Winery is the Spirit of Harvest Festival. During this festive celebration, guests socialize and try the vineyard’s newest wine releases. There is always live music, local artisan vendors, food, and, of course, wine! In addition to the Spirit of Harvest Festival in late September, the vineyard hosts small concerts, 5Ks, and other events throughout the year.
