Believe it or not, it’s time to start gearing up for the Christmas season! It’s one of our favorite times of year here at Glen-Ella Springs. With traditions to continue and establish, family to reconnect with, and celebrations to be had, there is something truly special about the winter holidays. If you’ve never picked your own Christmas tree at a farm, then you should consider doing so this year. There are several Western NC Christmas tree farms within an hour and a half of our North Georgia Mountain bed and breakfast, making a trip to choose and cut your own tree the perfect outing for you to make on your way home from the Inn.
Different NC Christmas tree farms have their own variety of tree types including Fraser Firs, Douglas Firs, White Pine, and Spruce. Also, many farms have other festive activities and attractions, making them more than just a destination for picking out a tree. There are many places to choose from, so we’ve come up with a list of few Western NC Christmas tree farms to get your plans started.
J&J Tree Farm | Franklin, NC
This farm offers choose and cut Frazier Fir, Norway Spruce, White Pine, and Hemlock trees. Net-bagging services and fresh wreaths are also available.
Tom Sawyer’s Christmas Tree Farm and Elf Village | Glennville, NC
An eighty acre farm that grows the finest Frasier Firs. Choose and cut options begin the Saturday before Thanksgiving. November and December finds the farm hosting an Elf Village, a shop with gifts and ornaments, appearances by Santa, and horse and carriage rides, and much more. A one-stop spot for Christmas merry-making.
Sweetwater Christmas Tree Farm | Franklin, NC
Located just off Highway 64 in Franklin, this is a fantastic place to get a beautiful Fraser fir Christmas tree. There’s no additional charge for trees over 9 feet for trees from Sweetwater Christmas Tree Farm.
Keepin’ It Green | Mooreseville, NC
A high quality tree lot with a selection of Frasier Firs in all sizes, including the extra large variety that you won’t find at your run-of-the-mill lot. Children’s activities, snack bar, and fire pit with s’more making are also available on-site.
