Spend a Day at These North Georgia Vineyards and Wineries
Yonah Mountain Vineyards
Located in nearby Cleveland, GA, Yonah Mountain Vineyards is a 200-acre, family-owned winery located at the base of Yonah Mountain. The property boasts a wide variety of grapes, including Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Petit Manseng, and many others. Their spacious, circular tasting room is open daily for tours (you won’t want to miss it—it’s an architectural wonder). A popular choice is the Cave Tour & Tasting, a 90-minute walking tour of the winery. On this tour, you’ll taste three unreleased wines as you explore the only “wine caves” in the state. Finally, you’ll end the tour with a tasting of six additional wines. Other Yonah Mountain Vineyard tasting tours include the Signature Vineyard Tour/Vintner Tasting and the Reserve Wine Room Tasting. Special Yonah Mountain Vineyard events include live music and unique tastings.
Wolf Mountain Vineyards
At an elevation of 1,800 feet, this winery sits atop Wolf Mountain and provides impeccable views of the Southern Appalachian Mountains. At Wolf Mountain Vineyards, over 5,000 vines are hand-planted throughout the year. The high elevation of this vineyard provides warm days and mild nights that constitute the perfect grape-growing environment.
Habersham Winery
Since 1983, Habersham Winery has produced some of the finest wines in North Georgia. It’s also one of the oldest and largest wineries in the state! Vineyard Manager Matt Chobanian carefully monitors the grapes in the vineyard, and this attention to detail shows through the crushing, fermentation, and aging processes. Their popular Habersham Estates label includes varietal Vinifera and blended wines that use French-American grapes. Habersham opens daily for complimentary tastings and self-guided tours. If you’re looking for more than just a few quick sips, attend one of their special events!
The Cottage Vineyard and Winery
The Cottage Vineyard and Winery is located in Cleveland, Georgia, has been in business since 2012. At this popular spot, guests can enjoy live music, 360-degree mountain views, and breathtaking sunsets.
Frogtown Winery
Frogtown Winery is another local favorite that offers 25 different grape varieties. This 57-acre complex produces over 10,000 cases of estate-grown wine per year! Find it at the foot of the Appalachian Mountains between Dahlonega and Cleveland, Georgia.
Three Sisters Vineyards
Home to the Georgia Wine Country Festival, this established winery is situated on 108 acres on the outskirts of Dahlonega. Guests can sample their favorite flavors in the Three Sisters Vineyards’ tasting room, then explore the winery’s gazebo, barns, and, of course, vineyards.
Tiger Mountain Vineyards
Using traditional vintner methods, Tiger Mountain Vineyards grows six French varieties as well as the American Norton grape. In 2011, the owners transformed the winery’s 75-year-old barn into a spectacular venue that’s perfect for events among the impressive vineyards. This winery is also part of the Georgia Wine Highway! Tiger Mountain’s tasting room and vineyards are open year-round. A great activity for you and yours to try is a group tour; simply make a reservation in advance. If you get hungry at this North Georgia winery tour, you’ll be able to grab a bite at the Red Barn Cafe located on the property.
Cavender Creek Vineyards
The petite, 4.5-acre Cavender Creek Vineyards were established by a group of generous volunteers. The combination of an excellent climate, fertile soil, and caring staff has encouraged the vines to flourish here. You’ll love this winery’s fun and inviting atmosphere!
Serenity Cellars
Located in Cleveland, Georgia, Serenity Cellars is a Tuscan inspired boutique winery that we cannot get enough of! Take a step into the Old-World when you try their beautiful red blends such as La Familigia Rosso or indulge in a dessert, such as the Dolce Bello.
Boutier Winery
Boutier Winery has earned national and international awards, including gold, silver, and bronze awards for French-American hybrid varietals and silver and bronze awards for their Peach Chardonnay and Chambourcin.
